NEW HALL AT POKENO

The new hall at Pokeno was officially opened at the week-end, when a successful social was held. Mr. J. Dean, chairman of the Franklin Power Board, performed the opening ceremony. The building, which is of wood and iron, is 74ft. long and 50ft. wide. The stage is 14ft. wide and is lined with stained rimu. Provision has been made to show movy pictures. The old school hall, which is 45ft. long and 20ft. wide, is attached to the side of the new building by a lobby. It will be used as a supper room.
