WOMEN’S TEMPERANCE UNION MAKES PROTEST SUPERVISION BY POLICE A protest against the holding of wrestling matches in the Town Hall was made by the Ponsonby branch cf the Women's Christian Temperance Union to the City Council last evening. The union asked that no more matches he permitted there. On the motion of the Mayor, Mr. G. Baildon, it was decided to reply that there was no reason to Interfere. The contests were under the supervision of the police, and there had been no report warranting the council’s intervention.
