“BREACH OF FAITH”

TRAMWAY UNION’S COMPLAINT COUNCIL DEFERS QUESTION Claiming that a breach of faith has been committed by the Transport Board by its decision to break off negotiations with the Tramwaymen’s Union, the union appealed to the City Council last evening. In asking that a deputation be heard, the union asked the council, which has a majority of members on the board, to view the board’s action in a serious light. Cr. E. J. Phelan, speaking on behalf of the union, moved that the question be deferred until the next council meeting. “This course is suggested because important negotiations are now in hand,” remarked Cr. Phelan. The council carried the motion.
