Footballers Face Grave Prosecution
VISITORS CHARGED INCIDENT IN RESTAURANT From Our Own Correspondent HAMILTON, Today. Two members of the Wellington Rugby football team, which played in Hamilton on September 11 lames Douglas Mackay, a teacher at the Wellington College, and William James Huxtable, of Petone —were charged before Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., in the Police Court today, with indecent assault. The act was alleged to have taken place in the dining-room of the Commercial Hotel upon a housemaidwaitress who served them during dinner. The waitress, in evidence, complained that both accused had interfered with her clothing. She threatened to throw the vegetables over them, but they did not desist. On returning to the kitchen she remarked: —“The Wellington team are a cheeky mob.” She added that she was too tired to tell anyone at the time, except the housekeeper. ( Proceeding. F
