“BLACKIE” MILLER KNOWS THE WORLD VISIT TO NEW ZEALAND Few travellers have journeyed more extensively that “Blackie” Miller, ex-heavy-weight champion boxer of Australia, who is visiting New Zealand while waiting for an injured ankle to heal. ■yjTLLER, who arrived from Sydney on the Marama this morning, fought Pat Redmond at Rushcutters’ Bay recently and lost to him. Nevertheless, he hopes to be in the ring once more as soon as his ankle is sound, and would accept a match in New Zealand if one was offered. "Blackie” left Australia when opportunity offered and sought fame and fortune abroad. “What was the use of staying in Australia and being turned into a punch bag for anyone who happened to come along?” he asked a Sun man today. "I got out and kept moving. I have visited every country in. the world except New Zealand. Now I am about to complete the list.” The passport of the big Australian contains the official stamps of Africa, Holland, Germany, Portugal, France. Spain, Italy, Great Britain, the United States, Canada, the Argentine, Brazil —to name just a few. He has fought in each country and twice met Tom Heeney, the last time in South Africa
