MOTOR-CAR OVERTURNS
WOMAN DRIVER TRAPPED From Our Own Correspondent NEW PLYMOUTH, Today. When the car she was driving along the Okoke Road on Sunday swerved at a bad corner, skidded in some loose shingle and crashed into a bank and overturned, Mrs. P. Darke was pinned under the vehicle and badly injured. Mr. Darke, the only passenger, was thrown clear and escaped harm. Mrs. Darke’s arm was caught in the steering-gear and Mr. Darke was unable to jack up the car without help. When assistance arrived and Mrs. Darke was freed she had been trapped for 20 minutes. Her head and arms were badly injured and she suffered severely from shock. The car was badly damaged.
