McVeagh, Bagnall and Mackay, on behalf of Bishop Cleary, and Mr. J. Guiniven, a member of the Takapuna Borough Council. Mr. H. P. Collins, sanitary inspector for tile Takapuna Borough, furnished a report stating that the destructor bad been under daily supervision. He gave details of his observations from September 24 to October 16. In the SS hours during which the destructor was working the cause of complaint was in evidence for 12 hours. It affected with headaches people employed in strawberry gardens, while the adjoining householders in Dominion and Karaka Streets suffered from the unpleasant stench. The trouble arose when the wind was from the south to south-west and north-north-east.
