The House of Representatives met this morning and went into committee of Supply to deal with the estimates. A vote of £40,000 for the Discharged Soldiers’ Settlement Account was submitted. Mr. F. Waite (Clutha) asked that a promise that returned soldiers would Jo given preference in application for -fount Pisa settlement flats should be fulfilled.
Mr. W. A. Bodkin (Central Otago) a promise had been given in r^ 13 th at a portion of the flats would reserved for ballot in the interests residents, among whom were some had been working on the estate for many years.
