ONE KILLED, TWO INJURED

Car Somersaults Near Thames an early morning capsize From Our Own Correspondent THAMES, Today. WHEN a motor-car capsized about 2 o’clock this morning, the driver was killed and a young woman and another man injured. A third passenger, a young woman, escaped injury.

The accident occurred near Kopu, fra miles from Thames, on the main road"to Hamilton. y r J. McCormick was returning home from a meeting at Thames, when he found a car resting on its side, just off the road and two men and two girl 3 lying on the roadside, one of the men being dead. Those concerned in the accident were:— KILLED Alfred C. D. Wilson, salesman, Hamilton, the driver of the ear, a married man, aged 28. INJURED Major Samuel West, traveller, ot 27 Ponsonby Road. Auckland, aged 38, serious injuries to shoulder.

cuts on face and serious injuries to head. Miss Lucy Alley, Hikutaia, injuries to back and face. UNINJURED Miss Eva White, Paeroa. The car was travelling from Hamilton to Thames and ran off the road at a small culvert, and judging from the skid marks, returned to the road and somersaulted twice and landed in a shallow ditch. Mr. Wilson was flung out and struck his head against a piece of drain-pipe, causing a broken neck and a fractured skull. Miss Alley and Major West were removed to the Thames Hospital. Mr. Wilson was formerly of Palmerston North, and his wife was on her way to join him at Hamilton.
