WAITEMATA CLUB'S PROGRAMME INTER-CLUB FIXTURES The following is the list of fixtures for the coming season issued by the Waitemata Boating Club:— November 9. —Opening day. Ellerbeck 'rophies. INTER-CLUB The inter-club fixtures will be:— November 16.—‘Barrett Cup, at West End. November 30.—Schmidt Jubilee Trophies. January 25.—Macklewraith Cup, at North Shore. February S—Brett Cup, at St. George's. March B.—Smith Shield, at. Waitemats. Dr. Stuart-Reid Cup to be arranged. ST. GEORGE’S CLUB The report of the St. George’s Rowing Club, which will be presented at the annual meeting on Thursday next, states that the club membership had been well maintained, and there were good prospects for a considerable increase in the active membership during the coming season. The balance sheet disclosed a very satisfactory position. While the season had finished with an overdraft and liabilities amounting to £46 Is sd, it must be taken into consideration that the sum of £BB 8s 3d had been lexpended on a new plan and in liquidating the previous year’s debts. The balance of assets over liabilities now stood at £946 Is 7d. The club had been represented at regattas held at Tauranga, Whangarei, Hamilton, Ngaruawahia and Auckland, and the crews were to be congratulated upon their successes, winning in all donations amounting to £2B. The club crews competed in various inter-club events and were successful in winning for the first time the Nixon Cup, a trophy donated by the Tamaki Y r acht Club for competition among the rowing clubs on the Waitemata Harbour. The first annual non-class four race for the Brett Memorial Cup and miniatures resulted in a win for St. George’s.
