THE MANUKAU CLUB SUCCESSFUL SEASON REVIEWED There was an attendance of about 50 members at the annual meeting of the Manukau Amateur Cycling Club. The president, Mr. H. G. Brewin, was in th© chair. The annual report showed 106 financial members on the roll books—B6 seniors and 20 juniors. Twenty-five track races were conducted by the club during the season. The big track race, the five miles handicap for the House Cup, was won by L. B. Roberts, off the 490yds mark. J. H. Wade, the club’s scratch rider, represented Auckland at the New Zealand amateur championship meeting at Wellington. Wade won the half-mile title from T. Oakley, the Wellington representative, by half a length in lm 10 l-ss, while in the three miles he finished second to Oakley in 7m 30 l-ss. The road races were fairly well patronised, although toward the end of the season a slight falling off in the number of entries received was noticeable. partly because of the lengthy nature of the races at the conclusion of the season. In all 28 senior and 21 junior road races were decided. The Kohn Challenge Points Cup, awarded for senior road competitions, was won by H. R. Dwight, with 21 points, with L. B. Roberts and R. R. Watson next with 15 points each. The 50-miles Auckland provin.cial amateur championship road race was won by J. Leather off the 10m 40s mark, and the championship title went to H. R. Dwight, who registered the record time of 2h 15m 545. The following officers were elected: Patrons, Messrs. E. H. Cpcksey. S. W. House; president, Mr. H. G. Brewin; vice-presidents, Messrs. G. Sutherland; secretary, Mr. L. Wilson; assistantsecretary and treasurer, Mr. C. I. Gainsborough; race secretary (track), Mr. F. K. Glass; handicapper, Mr. G. W. Cleaver; club captain, Mr. H. R. Dwight; vice-captain, Mr. F. J. Casey; executive committee, Messrs. H. G. Brewin, F. J. Casey, G. W. Cleaver, H. R. Dwight, G. Lethaby, J. Mackie and L. Wilson. It was unanimously decided that a race of approximately 100 miles be held annually. A donation of £2 2s was voted to the St. John Ambulance Brigade. It was resolved to open the track season with a two-mile handicap next Wednesday night at the Domain.
