KEEN WOMEN ATHLETES
Wellington women runners are j anxious to extend their operations to other than purely running events. At the annual meeting of the Wellington Ladies’ Amateur Athletic Club, held last week, it was urged that jumping j and certain field events should be added to the list of events for which ; women competitors could enter at j sports meetings. It was decided to j refer the matter to the committee for j further consideration and report, but j it was decided to make provision for | hurdle races on future programmes, the hurdle to be 2ft Sin high.
