MOTOR-RIDING CYCLISTS
FINES AFTER GREAT ROAD RACE Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Today. At a meeting of the North Canterbury centre of the New Zealand Athletic and Cycling Union it was decided to fine cyclists W. K. Weir, G. Barnes, R. Good and F. Dawson £1 each for riding part of the way in the Timaruchristchurch road race in motor-cars. When near Christchurch they got out and completed the journey on their cycles.
In connection with the recent round-the-gorges race it was reported that several of the union's registered riders had interfered with the race. It was decided to write to the riders concerned asking for an explanation.
