LONG SEPARATION FROM WIFE Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. Before Mr. E. C. Lowry, S.M., James Wlwi Norton, a Maori, pleaded not guilty to a charge that, having on February 23, 1909, married Annie McDonald at Blenheim, he went through the ceremony of marriage with Isabell Nicoll Welsh, of Christchurch, thereby committing bigamy. He was committed for trial. The police said accused, in a statement he would not sign, said he thought that if he had lived apart from his wife for seven years he would be able' to marry again.
