GIRL GUIDES’ CORNER
On Saturday, October 5, the Tahu•tamai Company celebrated their sixth birthday, when about 100 Guides were present. The hall and supper rooms had been tastefully decorated by the Guides.
The evening commenced with a Brownie Flying Ceremony, when Lyla "Watts, a First-class Brownie, flew up to the Guides. Nancy Coates, a. Firstclass Brownie, was also enrolled s*> a Guide. Numerous amusing games were played throughout the evening, while Betty lnsull gave a recitation
church, parade accompanied by the Kukamai Girl Guides and Rangers. The service was conducted by tho Rev. Air. Gilmour. “Wo are all looking forward to Labour Day as captain is going to take us to the Cascades for a hike.”* Shadow Dancer reports for the Papatoetoe Company: “During the month of September tho St. John’s Company, Papatoetoe, settled down to work again. Attendances at the meetings during the school holidays were poor, as many of the Guides were away on holiday. Several girls have left as they are now at work and find it impossible to attend
