RUSSIANS SEIZE TOWN
500 CHINESE SAILORS DROWNED FIGHTING IN MANCHURIA (United Service) Reed. 11 a.m. SHANGHAI, Mon. As a result of a three days’ battle it is now confirmed that Soviet- troops captured the town of Lahasusu. The Chinese admit the loss of three river gunboats. Five hundred sailors were drowned. They claim that the Russians suffered similarly. Persistent reports are circulating at Harbin that Moscow intends shortly to issue an order for a general offensive along the whole Manchurian border.
