Obituary
MRS. W. BROWN The death has occurred of Mrs. W. Brown, of Te Kopuru, wife of Mr. AY. Brown, founder of the well-known shipbuilding and engineering firm of Brown and Sons, of Dargaville. Mrs. Brown had been a well-known resident of the district for upwards of 30 years. She had been ill for many months. She is survived by her husband and an adult family of sons and daughters. MR. A. N. LESTER Mr. A. Neville Lester, who died at New Plymouth on Sunday at the age of 70. was the third son of Mr. Robert K. Lester, who arrived in New Zealand from England in September, 15627 on the Matilda Wattenbach. After living at Port Albert for 14 years Air. Lester moved to Helensville and then to Auckland, where he commenced business as a baker with Mr. Walter Buchanan as partner. The business they established has developed into the largest of its kind in Auckland. In ISBB Mr. Lester went to Australia, but returned to New Zealand some years before the war. He was one of the first to foster aviation in the Dominion. Air. Lester later took over the Ngaere gardens, which, with two sons, he managed up to the time of his death. Mrs. Lester died IS years ago. and ATr. Lester is survived by one daughter and two sons.
