RIFLE SHOOTING
PAEROA MINIATURE CLUB The weekly shoot of the Paeroa Defence Miniature Rifle Club was held on Wednesday night in the Paeroa Drill Hall. Despite the bad weather conditions there was a good attendance of members, which goes to prove the keen interest which is being taken in this shooting. The competition was a handicap shoot for a trophy donated by Mr. A. A. Jenkinson, and was shot for under the usual conditions. Three members reached the limit, and after a very close and keen shoot- ! off, the president of the club, Mr. F. C. Hubbard, won with 97, after scoring a possible in the original shoot. H. A. Morrison and C. Miller, both of whom shot well, were close behind with a total of 96. The scores in the shoot-off were: F. C. Hubbard, 97, scr.—97; H. A. Morrison, 94, 2—96: C. Miller, 93, 3 —96.
