Otahuhu Croquet Club AN ENJOYABLE PROGRAMME A social and dance uas held recently by the members of the Otahuhu Croquet Club in the Kingsford Hall. In spite of the inclement weather there was a very good attendance, the hall being decorated with streamers of the club’s colours and bowls of spring flowers. The music was supplied by Messrs. Martin and Papich extras being played by Mrs. Gillies and Mrs. Walters. Bongs were contributed by Miss fcjtanslleld and Mrs. Walters, Mr. Lonergan and Mr. Brough, a humorous item being contributed by Mr. Martin. The Monte Carlo waltz was won by Mrs. 1' lood and Mr. G. V. Pearce, and the lucky number waltz by Mr. and Mrs. James Todd. Among those present were - Mrs. Pearse, who wore black satin and georgette; Miss Stansfield, apricot satin iac f overdress; Mrs. .Flood, rose taffeta Irock with velvet and gold to tone; Mrs. A. Eustace, floral georgette frock; Mrs. G. S. Johnston, dawn celanese satin with side posy; Mrs. G V Pearce, figured crepe de chine; Mrs. Lambert, model frock of black lace with shoulder bow; Mrs. C. L. Hampton, apricot crepe de chine with posy trimmings; Mrs. Carter, apricot crepe de chine- Miss T- Parsons, rose beige taffeta; Miss J. A. Todd, shell pink crepe de chine; Mrs. •L, E. Gillies, royal blue georgette; Mis. W. G. McAnulty, duchess green frock; Mrs. James Todd, rose beige crepe de chine. ■Mrs. wearing figured rayon with shaded pink scarf; Mrs. Elliott naples blue crepe de chine with silver and net: Mrs. .Snowdon, red crepe deltine; Mrs. xs. W alters, lace frock over pink satin; Mrs. Parsons, floral ninon ' frock; Miss Ogilvie, black satin with shawl to tone; Miss J. Melvor. beige crepe ae chine; Mrs. Kimber, amethj'st frock, trimmed with crepe de chine;' Mrs. R Rugg. daffodil satin beaute, silver lace trimmings; Mrs. Russell, cyclamen satin with gold lace reliefs. Hair brushes should be washed frequently in hot water, to which a little soda has been added, taking care that only the bristles are in the water. Rinse thoroughly in cold j v ater, shake and dry in the open air, ; not before a fire.
