SPORTS AT PAPAKURA

LABOUR DAY ATTRACTION One of the most attractive Labour Day sports programmes in the Auckland district will be staged at Prince Edward Park, Papakura, on Monday, October 28. A splendid track is available there for deciding both sprint and distance events up to two miles, fpr which excellent prize money is offered. The 120yds Sheffield handicap carries the biggest reward of £25, while the furlong dash money is £lO. Other events include. 120yds maiden, 440yds, 880yds,, mile, mile and a-hajf, two miles and mile and a-half consolation. Nominations for all events close on October 17, and entrance fees must be furnished in each case.
