POINT CHEVALIER SCHOOL USING PORCHES ATTENDANCE RECORD With a roll number of 635 and an average attendance last month of 585, the Point Chevalier School has set up a record since its establishment. However, the building, which has been repeatedly added to, is in such an overcrowded state that endeavours are being made to obtain the use of the bowling club pavilion as a classroom l’or one of the standards. Classes are now being conducted in two porches. During the recent visit of the Minister of Kducation, the Hon. IT. Atmore, representations were made urging the addition of two more rooms, but the secretary of the committee, Mr. M. P. Hooper, said yesterday that, even with the extra space accommodation would not be sufficient to cope with the attendance expected when the tramway system was extended to Point Chevalier.
