AUCKLAND ON TOP
CONGRATULATED ON SOCCER WIN CONTROL BOARD MEETS A letter was received by the Control Board of the Auckland Football Association last evening from the New Zealand Football Association congratulating the Auckland representatives on their retaining the English Football Trophy for the season, and the Auckland Tramways Club for winning the Chatham Cup. The set up to consider the organising of official picnics during the off-season in order to keep players together reported that the matter had been gone into thoroughly, but advised that no further action be taken. The Manurewa Club applied for a postponement of the Thistle Cup final, which was to have been played tonight. It was decided to play the game next Wednesday night. The committee resolved to present the trophies won during the season at the conclusion of the Thistle Cup final at Blandford Park next Wednesday night. The business houses match, which was to have been played as a curtainraiser this evening, has been postponed until tomorrow. The game will be played on Blandford Park at 4.15 P*m. MATCHES FOR SATURDAY Following are the games for Saturday:— Falcon Cup Final.—Manurewa v Tramways, Blandford Park, 3 p.m., Mr A. Parkinson. Fourth Grade Knock-out Final.— North Shore v. Comrades, Blandford Fark, 1 45 pm * Mr - A. J. Galley. Third Grade Open.—Championship final: Technical Old Boys v. New Lynn, Outer Domain No. 1, 3 p.m., Mr. E~ F Miller. Third Grade Intermediate.—Knockout final, replay: Belmont v. Burnley, Outer Domain No. 2, 3 p.m., Mr. J. Fitton.
