ANNUAL MEETING
THAMES OLD GIRLS i The Thames Old Gilds’ Association held its annual meeting in the Pitt Street Methodist Schoolroom yesterday afternoon, when the report and balance-sheet were presented, showing the association to be in a very satisfactory position in every way. The officers and committee were unanimously re-elected. The following new vice-presidents were elected:—Mrs. Brown, Mrs. Brough, Mrs. Campbell, Mrs. Batson, Miss Carnie and Miss Clarkson. The speaker for the afternoon was hr. Hilda Northcroft, who gave an address on “Women’s Work in Social and Political Fields,” incidentally remarking that she did not know of any women's association in the Dominion that could show a better balance-sheet and report than the Thames Old Girls’ Association. At the conclusion of her address the speaker was heartily j thanked for the very interesting subject she had put before those present. Song items were given by Mrs. Osser and Mrs. De Berg, these being much appreciated, and afternoon tea being served the opportunity was taken to present Mrs. McMiken, the honorary secretary, with a silver hot-water jug, and Miss Shaw, assistant-secretary, with a Doulton cup, saucer and plate. Mrs. Dawson, who had provided tea, was presented with a hand mirror, and a beautiful Doulton afternoon tea sot was given to the president, Mrs. Oldham. Mention was made of the helpful work done by the association, much assistance being given to old Thames people who were in difficult circumstances. > 1 | | i i I I i j I ! i j | ] | j I
