MUSIC LOVERS MEET

PIANO STUDENTS’ ASSOCIATION A varied programme was submitted by the Auckland Piano Students’ Association at a meeting in the club rooms last evening. A very interesting lecture was given by Miss Renee Satchwell on Schumann and his piano music. It was illustrated by Miss Grace Piggott (extracts from “Kreisleriana”), and Miss Mavis Hewson (“Etudes Symphoniques”). Items contributed during the evening were as follow: —“Black Key Study” (Chop!), Miss Mavis O'Connell; “Bemande et Reponse” (Coleridge Taylor), Miss B. Bavis; Buo, “Pas de Cymbales” (Chaminade), Misses Boris Binns and Mavis Hewson, “Berceuse” (Chopin), Miss Marjorie Roberts, Prelude (Rachmaninoff), Miss Francis Johnson; “Impromptu in A Flat” (Schubert), Miss Edna Naughton; “Arabesque” (Lesehitisky), Miss Joan Northcroft; ’‘Romance” (Sibelius), Noel Gresham; “Duet in B” (Biabelli), Misses Marie Jagusch and M. Hawthorn; duet, “Valse Parisenne” (Horvath). Misses A. Walker and W. Cleave.
