Opposite the main entrance of the Farmers' Trading Company a light van was leaving the kerbside. Its owner, Mr. E. J. Jones, of Mount Wellington, was turning the van toward the centre of the street when it was struck by the lorry. Drawn up ahead of the van was a light lorry owned by Mr. H. Booth, of Titirangi. The force of the impact hurled the front of the van into the rear of Mr. Booth’s vehicle, and the big lorry thrust forward, knocking the hub-cap oft the wheel of the stationary lorry. * The mudguards of Mr. Jones's van were buckled, and the off-wheel was smashed. The heavy lorry received only slight damage to one mudguard, aDd the light lorry was left intact exrept for the minor damage to the off-wheel. No one was injured.
