PRISON MANIAC'S DEED
MAN FATALLY STABBED IN A CELL CARVING-KNIFE USED Reed. 10.50 a.m. SYDNEY, Today. Suddenly becoming a maniac, a prisoner at. the Cootamundra Gaol plunged a long carviug-knife into the back of a fellow prisoner. After being cowed by the warders, he was locked in a padded cell. The murdered man was Walter Hunter. Hearing cries of agony, the warders rushed to the cell, and found the man brandishing the knife, which was dripping with blood. He was awaiting trial on a charge of wounding. The two prisoners were in the kitchen peeling potatoes when the attack occurred.
