THOUGHT GUILD
DRAWING-ROOM MEETING The monthly drawing room meeting of the Mothers’ Thought Guild was held at the residence of Mrs. Hemus, Belvedere Street, Epsom, last Tuesday, about 24 being present. Mrs. Ilemus, for the sake of tho.-e who were not already members, briefly outlined the aims of the guild. Following this. Dr. Mildred Staley spoke interestingly for about three-quarters of an hour on social work. SURPRISE VISIT BRIDGE AND DANCE EVENING On Monday evening a number cf friends of Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Dawson paid a surprise visit to their residence, Manukau Road, Pukekohc. Dancing and games were indulged in by the young folk, while their elders played bridge. The rooms were decorated with blue cinerarias and arum lilies. Among those present were: Mrs. E. Maddison, Mrs. W. Evans. Mrs. T. E. Keven, Mrs. C. J. Dyne. Mrs. H. Munro, Miss May Smith. Miss Pat Lyne, Miss Kathleen O’Connor, Miss Pat Caldwell. Miss Alice Johns, Miss Bessie Fairlie, Miss Mavis Barnes, Miss Muir Maddison, Miss Rewa Johns. Miss Flo Wallen and Miss Thelma Gathercole.
