A PERFECT START BY AMERICA'S NEW SYSTEM.— The horses are shown leaving their stalls when the barrier was released. Each horse has a stall to itself, and thus are prevented from getting out of alignment and, what is more important, they cannot kick each other. The starting - boxes appear to comprise a big structure (note the ironwork above), and as soon as the start is effected, the complete box is wheeled off the track, leavins the course clear for when the horses come round the second time in the case of distance race
