BRITISH LIBERAL PARTY

ANNUAL MEETING OPENS AT NOTTINGHAM ELECTORAL REFORM SOUGHT British Official Wireless RUGBY, Thursday. Fifteen thousand delegates attended the Liberal Party’s annual meeting, which was opened at Nottingham today. It is expected that proposals for the reform of the electoral system will dominate the discussions. The question will be raised in a motion declaring that the present system has told most heavily against the Liberals in recent years and that although the Liberal Party at the last election was supported by nearly one-fourth of the electorate it has less than one-tenth of the membership of the House of Commons.

The motion welcomes the new' conference which is to deal with the question.
