The School of Mines battery is at Present engaged crushing ore from the Karangahake mine. The recent heavy frosts have considerably damaged the fruit of the lemon trees. Hardly a lemon has been *ett on tho trees in the Kauaerenga orchards. It is considered there will ? e a shortage of lemons during the *te summer, and autumn months.
