REMARKABLE FEAT AT BROOKLANDS OVER 82 MILES AN HOUR British Official Wireless RUGBY, Tuesday. A remarkable feat was accomplished yesterday by Mrs, Joan Chetwyand. Driving a Lea Francis car, she covered 99U miles in 12 hours, at an average speed of 82.97 miles an hour, on the Brooklancls track. This beat the record held by Mrs. Urquhart Dykes, who had made an average speed of 51.3 miles an hour for 12 hours. In the first three hours, Mrs. Chetwyand averaged 86?; miles an hour, but the last part of the drive took place in heavy rain and bad visibility.
