Hockey Dance Is Successful
Mat lure ica Club's Annual Function BRIGHT DECORATIONS With a canopy of multi-coloured streamers radiating from a festoon of greenery, the Anglican Hall, Manurewa, made a pretty setting for the Manurewa Ladies’ Hockey Club’s annual dance on Monday evening. "YTISS MARIE DARBY provided an enjoyable programme of dance numbers, and extras were played by Misses K. Harris and Sylvan Pegler. Mr. A. Crisp fulfilled the duties of master of ceremonies. Among those present were: Mrs. Robert Stewart, wearing a frock !of paeon blue crepe de chine, finished with deep fringed skirt and gold lace: Aliss l’atrieia I’.oscawen, wlio wore a flame taffeta frock, with dainty silver trimmings, and oriental shawl; Miss Sylvan Pegler, whose frock was of azure blue satin beaute; Miss Mavis McKerras,' who was wearing a frock of art blue, crepe de chine, with an uneven hemline of silver lace; Miss Kathleen Grindrod, froeked in black ring- velvet, with trimmings of fuchsia and shawl to harmonise; Miss Ilalls, wearing a frock of black silk marocain with reliefs of beige; Miss At. Grindrod, who was in a frock of apple green chenille velour, with diamente trimmings; Aliss K. A'oble, who wore an iris mauve crepe de chine frock, daintily embroidered. Aliss Rook, whose frock was of delphinium blue patterned silk; Aliss Queen Kimber, who was wearing a tlainty frock of scarlet panne velvet and gold lace: Aliss Averill Gibbs, whose frock was of coral pink crepe do chine, with silver lace trimmings, and french embroidered shawl; Aliss Gaenor Maxwell, who was in the palest of green patterned crepe de chine; Aliss JI. Maxwell, froeked in a black and peach taffeta ensemble; Aliss AX. Finlay, in a dainty frock of blush pink georgette and silver lace; Aliss Zelda Pegler, wearing a frock of sunkist chenille georgette with satin tonings; Aliss S. Beaumont, who wore a frock of sunset georgette, with diamente trimmings; Miss Smith, who was in a frock of moonlight blue lame; Miss K. Harris, who was wearing a frock of peach taffeta; Aliss Jessie Harris, froeked in turquoise blue ninon; Miss A. Crisp, who wore a frock of iris mauve crepe de chine, with trimmings of silver lace.
