Speed Light To Reappear Tomorrow
BIRCHWOOD HUNT FIXTURE A MINOR AFFAIR Although the annual race meeting tomorrow of the Birchwood I-lunt Club is a rather minor affair, several wellknown horses will be seen in action. Prominent among them is Speed Light, a three-year-old filly that displayed a lot of pace last season. Tomorrow Speed Light is to contest the principal handicap event, run over a mile. She is not overweighted with 5.9, for the opposition is not very strong, so that she should give a good account of herself. This filly is engaged in the Dunedin Guineas on Saturday of next week, and her showing tomorrow should prove a good line as to her classic prospects. Outside of Speed Light they are not a good class engaged during the day, for the stakes are on the small side. The following should come in for fair support in their engagements: Hunters’ Hurdles.—Armchair and Parader. Wallaco Hack. — Red Boa and Cossack Chief. Gardner Steeplechase. Thistlecrown and Snowfall. President’s Handicap.—Speed Light and Some Rose. Hunters’ Elat Handicap.—The Harp and Armchair. Otautau Trot.—Sunspot and Erin’s Fortune. Birchwood Hack Steeplechase.— Thistlecrown and Terehu. Kennells Hack Handicap.—Attractive Lady and Crossbow. The following are the acceptances: HUNTERS’ HURDLES Of £6O; ljj- miles
