Auckland Gas Active

WAIHIS STEADY THE market opened this morning somewhat quietly, although a fair amount of business is being recorded. Auckland Gas shares are selling freely, leaving little change in the market. AVaihi scrip is firm, only occasional sales being irausacted.

Business at this morning's early call. —On ’Change: Auckland Gas, Cl 4s Sd; Auckland Gas (con.), 18s 2d. Business at today’s midday call. — Reported: Commercial Bank of Australia, Cl 8s Sd: Union Bank of Australia. £l4 14s 6d; Northern Steamship (con.), 7s. • * • Coal shares are still receiving- considerable attention. There is no change in Hikurangi. Pukemiro have steady buyers. Renown, all issues, are in demand. Taupiri, both ord. and pref., have persistent buyers. Westport have buyers at 33s 6d, sellers appearing at 34s 9d. Westport-Stockton, both issues, have buyers, no sellers quoting. • * • The brewery section is quiet, although a number of buyers are. quoting. Innes. both issues, have persistent buyers. New Zealand have buyers at S9s 3d, sellers quoting 90s. Staples have buyers at 53s 3d, threepence advance on Saturday’s market; and sellers appearing at 555.

The miscellaneous section is active. Dominion Pictures continue to be in demand. Farmers’ Trading are steady. Gear Meat have buj-ers at 435, with out attracting a seller. Grey and Menzies have buyers at 10s 6d. Milne and C’hoyce, both shares and debenture stocks, are sought after. Fertilisers are unsteady. Robinson’s Ice Cream have keen buyers at 245..
