NICOLA, MAGICIAN
AT ST. JAMES THEATRE Nicola presented his series of amazing tricks and illusions at the St. James’ Theatre again on Saturday evening, and thoroughly startled the lai'ge audience. His exhibition of magic is little short of marvellous. Some of the more outstanding of Nicola’s performances are the Hindu basket trick, the aerial fishing, furnishing a flat., and the Egyptian scene of the priest, the mysterious shawls and the maidens. An interesting scene was the gaolbreaking feat, in which Nicola extricated himself from a particularly closely-guarded position. Nicola’s company also includes two entertaining vaudeville items, a shadowgraph expert and a juggler, the whole making up a thoroughly enjoyable programme.
“Young Eagles,” a forceful and realistic aviation story which takes place during the closing id ays of the World War, will be the next starring production for Charles Buddy Rogers.
