ADVENTUROUS CAREER
Eddie Dowling, star of the Paramount all -talking and singing release, “The Rainbow Man.” once toured Australia as a chorister. He ran away from his home in New England at the age of twelve, shipping as a cabin boy on an Atlantic liner. His singing voice was heard by a London theatrical manager who arranged for him to join the famous St. Paul's choir in London. Dowling toured Europe and Australia with that choir, gaining valuable concert experience. He returned to a successful career in New York. and after starring in the Ziegfeld Follies, produced his own musical comedies, notably. “Sally. Irene and Mary,” “The Velvet Lady," “Honeymoon Lane,” and | “The Sidewalks of New York.” He ! wrote the stories, the lyrics and staged
