FIRE AT CHRISTCHURCH
HOUSE COMPLETELY DESTROYED (Special to THE SUN) CHRISTCHURCH, Today. An unoccupied house of five rooms on the Esplanade, North Beach, owned by Mr. J H. Forrest, was burned to the ground early on Saturday morning. The house was burning furiously when the alarm was given, and although the New Brighton Volunteer Brigade answered the call promptly, it was unable to save anything.
