£129 FOR ARBITRATION
REDUCTION IN ENGINEER’S ACCOUNT WATER BOARD’S PAYMENT Of the account for services placed before the North Shore Boroughs Water Board by Mr. F. E. Powell, engineer, £129 is the sum remaining still to be submitted to arbitration. This was announced by the chairman of the board. Mr. E. Aldridge, yesterday afternoon, in. reviewing tile negotiations and the investigation undertaken in dealing with Mr. Powell’s accounts. After a review in committee, the board issued a statement on the position. This mentioned that Mr. Powell’s account, as it came before the board at its annual meeting in 1925, was in the vicinity of £I,OOO. A thorough examination by the board had eliminated any pei-centage charge for possible work in the Waitakeres. the statement continued. The account. as submitted to cover amounts for minor services, totalled £304 3s. The board, in agreeing yesterday afternoon to pay £174 3s, thus left £129 over -which arbitration is still to be carried out.
