PRETTY EPSOM WEDDING
SLATTER—WOOD A pretty wedding was celebrated on Wednesday of last week at St. George's Church. Ranfurly Hoad, when Miss Eileen Wood, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Wood, One Tree Hill, was marlied to Mr. Gerald 3D. Slatter, of Kaikohe. The Rev. Mr. Hitt officiated. The bride entered the church on the aim of her father, and wore a handsome frock of gold georgette appliqued with satin flowers and uneven hemline. Her embroidered tulle veil, which fell in graceful folds to form a train, was held in place with sprays of orange blossom, and she carried a shower bouquet of daffodils, lachenalia, and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by Miss Lily Reyburn as bridesmaid, who wore skyblue georgette, daintily beaded, and with uneven hemline. Her head-dress was of blue and gold tulle, and she carried a bouquet of blue irises, daffodils, and maidenhair fern. Mr. Jack Wood acted as best man. The reception was held at St. George’s Hall. Mrs. Wood receiving her guests wearing a handsome frock of black embossed georgette. The bride travelled in floral ring velvet frock, musquash coat, and brown straw hat, with ospreys.
GEORGETTE AND LIMERICK LACE
MORRISON—BAX Hikutaia, Thames, was en fete last Wednesday, when Miss Gladys Eva. the eldest daughter of Airs. Alice Bax and the late Air. Bax. was married to Mr. Edward Alal#olm. the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Atalcolm Morrison, also of Hikutaia. The bride, who was given away by her brother. Afr. Laurence Bax. wore a handsome gown of cream silk georgette over taffeta, with skirt and yoke of Limerick lace, daintily decorated "ith sprays of orange blossom. The
embroidered tulle veil was hung from a coronet of orange blossoms, and she carried a beautiful bouquet. The brido was attended by Miss Lorna Thompson, who was attired in pale blue georgette over taffeta silk, the underskirt being bordered with a deep hem of silver lace. Miss Thora Morrison and Miss Kathleen Bax acted as flower-girls. Mr. Carl Morrison was best man. The wedding took place in the Anglican Church, and the Rev. Weadon was the officiating clergyman. The wedding breakfast was held in the Hikutaia hall, over 100 guests being present. A social was held in the evening in honour of the event.
OTAHUHU WEDDING
CROW—LAUNDY A pretty wedding was celebrated at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Otahuhu, on Wednesday evening, when Hazel Isabella, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Laundy, of Niger Street, Otahuhu, was married to William Thomas, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Crow, of Great South Road, Otahuhu. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a becoming gown of ivory georgette, with a corsage of satin beaute, and the draped skirt was finished with rows of tiny frills. A prettily embroidered tulle veil was arranged on a bandeau of orange blossoms, and finished with true lovers’ knots of silver ribbon. An exquisite shower bouquet was carried. The bride was attended by two maids. Miss Beryl Laundy was wearing orchid pink silk georgette, with trimming of silver lame, and small posies. A pretty headdress of silver lame and rosebuds was worn, her bouquet was of shades to harmonise with her frock. Miss Joyce Laundy was frocked in turquoise blue silk georgette, inlet with silver tissue, finished with circlets of tiny roses. Her headdress and bouquet were of matching shades. The Rev. A. Elliffe was the ofliciatThe bridegroom was attended by Mr. A. Crow, while Mr. G. Crow carried out the duties of groomsman. Miss L. Moffatt presided at the organ. The reception was held in the Ivingsfol d Hall. Otahuhu. which had been
prettily decorated with streamers, and a wedding bell of white flowers. Mrs. Laundy, mother of the bride, wore a smart frock of sapphire blue celanese silk, with relief of beige georgette, and a small hat to match. Airs. Crow was attired in black hatienne, with vest and pipings of biscuit. Her hat was of soft black straw. The bride’s travelling frock was of sapphire georgette, with trimmings of lime, worn under a coat of flecked cloth, with small felt hat. BROCADED GOWN MALCOLM—DICK A pretty wedding was that of Aliss Afuriel Alay Dick, third daughter of Air. and Airs. Dick, of Bond Street, Grey Lynn, to Air. William J. Alalcolm, only son of Air. and Airs. J. Alalcolm. of Kerauera. St. Peter’s Presbyterian Church. Auckland was chosen for the ceremony, the Rev. T. Halliday officiating. The bride, who entered the church with her father, looked charming in a. frock of brocaded silk ornamented with a diamente buckle, and a veil of Honiton lace held in place with a spray of orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of white flowers and fern. The bridesmaids were Aliss D. - Dick, sister of the bride, and the Aliases ; F. and A. Alalcolm. who wore pretty , frocks of lime, apricot and mauve georgette respectively. Their large felt hats were of toning shades, and bouquets to match their frocks were , carried. Air. Edwards. i ; WANGANUI WEDDING ROBB—RUSSELL At St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, i Wanganui, Miss Mavis E. Russell, of Opaheke, formerly of Wanganui, became the wife of Air. Ernest Robb, of _ Okahukura, King Country. The Rev. i J. Patterson performed the ceremony, Aliss Tuvery playing the incidental music. The bride was given away by her brother-in-law. Air. S. Guthrie, and was charmingly attired in a frock of ivory georgette, with tight-fitting bodice, the skirt being hand-embroi-dered and falling in an uneven hemline. A very beautiful veil was held in place with an orange blossom cluster. ajid a bouquet of orchids, freesias and maidenhair fern, relieved with pink carnations, gave the finishing touch to a lovely ensemble. The bridesmaid was Aliss Olive Russell. a sister, who wore a handsome flared frock of peach shade french satin, inlet with radium lace. She wore a hat in tone, and carried a bouquet of Iceland poppies and fern. Aliss Norleine Guthrie, a neice of the bride, made a dainty flower girl, her frock being of frilled pale peach crepe de chine, with tulle coronet cap to match. : She carried a basket of poppies, carna- | tions and fern.
