PLANS FOR TOWN HALL
DECISION AT TE AROHA (Special to THE SUN) TE AROHA, Today. Plans and spec .fications of the proposed Town Hall at Te Aroha, which is to contain municipal offices, the library. meeting rooms and a theatre with a seating capacity of approximately 1.000, are to be prepared immediately. This decision was reached at a meeting of the Borough Council last evening Information advanced by the Mayor, Mr. R. Coulter, showed that town halls had proved profitable in towns of similar size to Te Aroha. The Tauranga Town Hall yielded an average annual profit of £90(1 over the past three years. Figures for other buildings were:—Cambridge, £335; Ngaruawahia, £478; Walpawa, £325; Huntly, £1,405; Tuakau, £221; and Newmarket, £459.
