“RIO RITA” ENDS
SUCCESSFUL CONCLUSION The concluding performance of j “Rio Rita” at St. James Theatre last ! evening was a fitting finish to a sue- ! cessful season. Throughout the j Auckland season the musical comedy has been enthusiastically received by ! large audiences, and many people were ! attracted to see the show more than ■ once. The performance last evening was j excellent. On the last night of the show it was to be expected that the ' players would relax to some extent, ! but this was not the case. It might I have been the first performance in- j stead of the last, judging by the fresh- l ness with which the play was pre- ! sented. The characters playing their j parts perhaps a shade better than at previous performances, stimulated no * doubt by the generous apjfiause ■ accorded them. At the conclusion bouquets were 1 presented to Miss Gladys MoncrieFf and ■ Miss Janette Gilmore, as well as the members x>f the chorus and ballet.
