BIRKDALE CLUB The following officers were elected at tho annual meeting of the Birkdale Lawn Tennis Club:—Patron, Mr. J. P. McPhail, Mayor of Birkenhead; president, Mr. W. S. Moiler; executive committee, Mesdames W. Casey, C. Scliorman, Miss D. Casey, Messrs. C. Schorman, P. McGovern, R. L. Moller, R. L. Moller, junr.; hon. auditor, Mr. J. C. Alexander; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. F. Schorman. HAMILTON CLUB At the annual meeting of the Hamilton Lawn Tennis Club the committee reported that the membership at tho beginning of last season stood at 161. Tho courts were in excellent order throughout the season. The standard of play had been well maintained. The election of officers resulted: President, Mr. R. D. McFarland: vicepresidents, Messrs. A. E. McCracken and W. J. King; secretary. Mr. C. Stevenson; women’s committee, Mrs. McCracken. Misses Eggleston and Newell; men’s committee, Messrs. Fabling. Brough. McCaw, Griffiths and Kidd. It was decided that the season be opened on October 12. EDENDALE CLUB The annual meeting of the Edendale Tennis Club was held in the Grafton Library Hall. The president, Mr. Raymond Ferner, presided over an excellent attendance of members. The annual report and balance sheet, which was presented at the meeting, showed the club to be in a good financial position. The secretary reported that the work of converting the surface of the courts from grass to chip was proceeding satisfactorily and that the courts will be ready for the official opening on Saturday, October 12. With the improved facilities for play now available the club was in a position to invite applications for new members. The election of officers resulted: President, Mr. Raymond Ferner; vice-pre-sidents, Mrs. Worrall, the Hon. Sir George Fowlds, the Minister of Health the Hon. A. J. Stall worthy), Mr. L. E. Rhodes (Mayor of Mount Albert) and Mr. Charles Tate; club captain, Mr. S. Bailey: selector, Mr. P. M. Hobson: secretary and treasurer, Miss H. Scruby: general management committee. Mrs. Hobson. Miss Page, Messrs. Skipper. Watkin, Darrach and Barnett. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to the retiring secretary and to the treasurer for their work during the past year.
