FACILITIES AT WHAKATANE (Special to THE SUN) WHAKATANE, Today. Part of the Whakatane Wharf sheds nas been. converted into cool chambers for the storage of butter and cheese awaiting shipment, and the first consignment, 460 boxes of butter from the Rangitaiki Plains Dairy Company, was Placed in the building on Wednesday, The three compartments in the sheds are for butter, cheese and general goods. The butter room, which is completely insulated, is to be kept at a temperature of 3S degrees by an automatic refrigerator. There is space for 8,000 boxes of butter. The boxes will run on conveyors from the lorries to the store, and again from the store to the ship’s hold, where they will be sent oo!ow in chutes. The insulated cheese storeroom is 35 feet long and 23 feet wide.
