Gay Hamilton Reunion Dance
HIGH SCHOOL FUNCTION OLD PUPILS’ HAPPY PARTY' On Monday evening the Hamilton High School old pupils, to conelude their annual reunion, held a very happy dance in the hall of their old school. Mr. and Mrs. Eben Wilson were host and hostess. rBEAMEKS of black and red, the school colours, were used in the hall, togetner with bowls of red rhododendrons on the tables in the supper room. The challenge cups of the school were used to hold the masses of spring flowers. The dance music was supplied by Hildreth’s Orchestra Mrs. Eben Wilson’s gown eras of floral chiffon velvet made with deep vandyked skirt. DANCING AND CARDS BIRKENHEAD EVENING FRIENDLY SOCIETY'S QUEEN A successful whist drive and dance was given by Mrs. J. Paltridge and Mrs. L. Watson, in the intei-ests of the .Friendly Societies’ Queen, Miss L. MlcPhail, in the R.A.0.8. Hall, Birkenhead, last evening, there being 18 tables in play. The winners were Mrs. T. Wai-bur-ton, scoring 176; Mr. L. Moller, with a score of 181. Mrs. Cameron won the second women’s prize, scoring 174. Mr. Farrington, second men’s prize, with 170. Mrs. Bevell was first at halftime play, with a score of 92, and Mr. H. Kelly, with S 7. The consolation prize was won by Mrs. F. Pugh with 139, and Mr. T. Beaton with 140. Mrs. J. Grade and her son, Mr. Stan Grade, were the winners of the Monte Carlo dance, and Mi-, and Mrs. AA r ells won the spot waltz". MORRINSVILLE PARTY WOMEN’S DIVISION OF FARMERS’ UNION Mrs. J. 11. Wyatt, of the women’s division of the Farmers’ Union, was hostess at an enjoyable bridge evening on Saturday, at the Lounge Tearooms, Morrinsville. Supper was provided by members of the division. Prizes for highest scores were won by Mr. .T. Allen and Miss Alien, and secret number contest by Miss P. Robison and Miss M. Craig. Among those present were: Mr. and Mrs. S. FERNER ADDRESSES MANUREWA BRANCH An interesting address on the welfare of delicate children, was given bv Mrs. N. Ferner in the Manurewa Town Hall recently, at a meeting of the Manurewa League of Alothers. Airs. MeCuiluni pi-esided. Airs. Ferner, as president of the .Auckland Community Sunshine Association, spoke of the good work the association is doing in its building in Nelson Street. The talk was followed with keen interest. At the conclusion, afternoon tea was served. SOCIAL EVENING NAVY LEAGUE GATHERING A niost successful social evening l was Navy League rooms on .Monday. An excellent programme was arranged by Miss Edna Thomas, the following artists assisting: Misses Hope Asher.
