ENGINE DERAILED

WANDERING COW KILLED MISHAP TO HENDERSON TRAIN Last evening an unfortunate cow got in the way of a train near New Lynn. The force of the impact derailed the two leading bogie wheels of the engine and killed the cow. The mishap occurred at 5.54 o’clock last evening when the 5.15 train from Auckland to Henderson was midway between New Lynn and Croydon Road. It was half an hour before the wheels were replaced on the line.
