Concerning allegations against the morals of West Coast miners, another Christchurch minister wlio spent tea veavs in Buller said: —"The miners' job is difficult, aud mining townships ere not garden c ities. All things considered. the religion of the miner is as good as the religion of the average man.” He characterised statements concerning Sunday drinking as an exaggeration.
