PIANO STUDENTS’ EVENING
BACH AND CHAMBER MUSIC The audience at the fortnightly meeting last evening of the Auckland Piano Students’ Association heard a recital of chamber music by Dr. Trcv:* de Clive Lowe and Mr. Leo Whittaker. Tho selected items, the Grieg 'ceh 1 sonata and the £aint Saens concerto in A minor, were highly appreciated. Compositions by Bach were play* in the early part of the evening. interesting paper on the composerlife was rea.d by Miss Doris BinnSPractical illustrations given were:— “Presto,” from the Italian concent. Miss Pearl "Wallace; “Prelude sin* Fugue in A major,” Miss Mary Jji-' chell: “Chromatic Fantasia.” Mavis Hewson; and “Prelude ;i - Fugue in A Flat.” Miss Blamires. A competition was won * Miss Marie Jagusch.
