INTOXICATED DRIVER FINED
OFFENCE ON RACECOURSE Press Association ASHBURTON, Today. Before the justices of the peace at Ashburton, Arthur William Wallace Smith, aged 26, of Dorie, was fined £lO for being: intoxicated while in charge of a car at the racecourse on Saturday and £5 for driving a car equipped with inefficient brakes. In default of the fine he was sentenced to one month’s gaol.
