A PILE OF BLACKENED ROOFING IRON was all that remained this morning of the Panmure Post Office and store. The fire, which is thought to have been caused by rats, broke out about midnight, but owing to there being no water supply the Ellerslie brigade could do nothing. Some of the mail, awaiting delivery, was saved.
