X. Pharazyn. The morning round will start at 7 50 o’clock, and the second round at 11.20. TAUMARUNUI CHAMPIONSHIP The final for the Taumartinui Golf Club's championship was won by A. Sandel, from C. A. Stevenson. The cards totals were:—Sandel, 42, 39, 38; Stevenson, 46, 44, 44. Both contestants played good golf, but the winner’s work was superior in each department. At the conclusion of the match he finished the remaining nine holes in 35, his tally for the 18 holes being 73. one under bogey, a feat that will take equalling on the course. MATIERE CLUB The second club match resulted: Alex Ross. 78; W. J. Pratt, 78; J. Turner. 79: M. Mirfin. 80; J. V. Ross, 81; F- H. Sowrv, 81: R. Alanson, S 3; X. DiULmore, S 3; C. J. So wry. So, all net. The women's competition will be replayed owing to irregularities in the
scoring. A general meeting of llvs club resolved slightly to amend tho local rules. Competition for the President's Cup will be commenced as soon as members are conversant with the conditions and general rules of play. EXHIBITION MATCH MOSS AND DOUGLAS BEAT MORPETH AND GEORGE Powerful driving by Sloan Morpeth, and masterly iron play by E. J. Moss, furnished an interesting contrast at Ono Tree Hill yesterday, when the amateur v. professional exhibition golf match was played. The match, which was followed by a large gallery, was won by tho pros., Moss and Douglas who beat Morpeth and Rex George on tho eigliteeenth. 1 up. Tho pros, were 3 up at the eighth, and maintained the lead till the thirteenth, when George won. Splendid, golf was witnessed in the early rounds* bogey or better being needed to win. Tho fourteenth was halved, and the amateurs won the fifteenth and sixteenth, Morpeth’s tremendous driving being a feature at this stage. Earlier ho pulled the ball a lot. The seventeenth was halved. Morpeth missed a, putt at the eighteenth, and the pros, won.
TE AWAMUTU CLUB The first round of the To Awainutu Golf Club’s championship will he played on Saturday. Tho competitors are: Otway v. Wallace, Barnett v. Winter, Holmes v. Williams and McDonald v. Blundell. The senior draw for the first round of the women’s championship is: Miss K. Wallace v. Mrs. Blundell, Miss H. Focke v. Miss M. Quin. Mrs. Teasdale v. Miss K. Woolly and Miss Clifford v.
